In the heart of Milan, on Via Borgogna, MMA Projects has designed the first Italian Design Hub for Rak Ceramics, the world’s third-largest ceramics group. This ambitious project marks the official entry of the Emirati group into Milan’s prestigious design district. Located in one of the city’s most central and renowned areas, the space serves as a new benchmark for design, aimed at bringing the quality and innovation of Rak Ceramics’ products into the Italian market with unprecedented visibility and resonance.
The Rak Ceramics Design Hub, the third of its kind in Europe after London-Clerkenwell and Frankfurt, is a true creative hub, a meeting point for architects, interior designers, and contractors. It is a place where design can be experienced, touched, and interpreted in various ways, thanks to the multiplicity of settings and exhibition solutions. The project goal was to create a versatile space where every corner tells a different story and each environment serves as a creative inspiration, allowing visitors to experience the brand's many facets. It begins with Rak Ceramics, the flagship brand, and extends to the high-end faucet solutions from Kludi, a German company with 100 years of history, as well as licensed brands such as Elie Saab (specializing in coverings and bathroom products) and associated companies like Rak Porcelain.
The Rak Ceramics Design Hub was conceived around a key concept that guided the MMA Projects team: Selling Inspiration. This concept served as the thread connecting every design choice, from the spatial conception to the attention to detail. The idea was to create a place that, in addition to selling products, also provides inspiration.
The first step was to look at the city that hosts and inevitably influences the project: Milan. Known as the undisputed capital of fashion and design, Milan is a city that never stops moving, vibrating, and transforming. Milan is a creative energy hub, a living laboratory of aesthetics, functionality, and innovation. For us, it was only natural to take Milan as a reference. Working in such an inspiring place means being visionary on a daily basis.
The Rak Ceramics Design Hub presents itself as a space with a clear identity, consistent with the brand, yet flexible and innovative. It is a dynamic space, offering a wide range of proposals that encourage dialogue among professionals and stimulate creativity. For this reason, the collaboration with MMA Projects was essential as a partner in the creation of the location, turning ambitious ideas into valuable spaces. This required constant dialogue, shared objectives, and openness to innovation. An ideal partner is an active interlocutor, capable of interpreting project needs and contributing with expertise, reliability, and quality.
